Recently, my recordings have been terrible quality and also extremely laggy. I think the lag mostly occurs when audio is playing, as I tested a recording without any audio (I didn't minimize my OBS so it recorded the Fortnite Replay Mode but no audio, and the footage barely lagged and was good quality.

I have no idea why it is now lagging, especially during audio, and I used to be able to record with no lag. I don't think I touched an audio setting, but maybe something got changed.

PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

BUMP. I need help, please! My recordings are abysmally laggy and unusable. I really need someone to help me. Whenever audio plays, such as a gunshot, the frames of the recording drop an insane amount. Can someone PLEASE look into this?

Is it obvious that I have that enabled? I never have changed that setting. I am getting 300 FPS while playing and the recording struggles to get 30 when audio plays. I used to be able to record without a problem and then randomly, maybe a setting changed, my recordings are shit...

I don't think that Windows Game Mode would be the problem, and what does it even do? I'm not recording live gameplay, it is Fortnite Replay Mode.

When the audio plays the frames just drop for no reason. Is that is what is happening to you? It is honestly insane and so ANNOYING. I know my computer can handle it. I am only trying to record in 30 FPS and it is literally dropping to like 0-10 when someone starts shooting.

PLEASE HELP! (Are there staff moderators on this site or what?)

It is obvious that you have game mode enabled, because it isn't reported as disabled in your OBS log. Since version 23, OBS reports a disabled game mode (and not reports an enabled game mode). This is a Windows setting, and it is default on by Windows. Every other thread on this forum is about issues due to having game mode enabled, just in case you didn't notice.
See here: https://obsproject.com/wiki/How-to-disable-Windows-10-Gaming-Features

The symptoms for the game mode issues are perfect fps within the game but awful and choppy recordings/streams.
It's how game mode is designed by the Windows developers: monopolize the computer resources for the game to make the game running as smooth as possible. Secondary applications as OBS are starving from resources due to this.

Alright, thanks. I guess that Windows 10 automatically puts Game Mode on. My Windows is extremely glitchy anyway, and I have to restart my computer basically every time just for my wireless headset to work (It plays audio, but won't play audio from applications/browsers until I restart.

Thanks koala, and I will try and check out the Windows Game Mode.

Did OBS 23 just come out, because my recordings were fine until recently.

Thanks again.
