Question / Help Recording

Hi,
I've just got OBS, which I'm using for recording purposes, but for some reason I get black bars at the side of my screen (when I record my desktop). But when I record games on the preview I see black bars around the whole of the image recording and it's centered. I don't really know what is going on, but can anyone help? I would like to remove the black bars. Also if someone told me the best settings for recording at 720p with a 64 bit system, AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, it would be much appreciated (for local recordings, I know you can look at the estimator for streaming), I'm looking for almost zero lag.

Thanks in advance,

Black bars are the result of recording at a different aspect ratio than what the game itself uses. For example if you play at 1680x1050 (8:5) and record at 1280x720 (16:9) then black bars will fill in the empty space. Make sure your base resolution under Settings > Video matches the game resolution. For more information refer to viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4233

Unfortunately a GTX 260 doesn't work well with OBS, even though its fine in many older games. You might consider upgrading it. Even a GTX 750 (~$120) is a huge upgrade.

If you can't upgrade, you'll probably need to use Ultra Fast preset with a high bitrate.
