Recording Zoom lecture on Macbook Pro (without permission from the university)

Hello,

My apologies if this isn't the right thread for this post or if the question has already been answered (can't seem to find it anywhere though).

As every other student around the globe, I'm receiving online lectures through Zoom. I would like to be able to record those lectures. I can't use the built-in record option in Zoom since students aren't giving permission to record lectures.

I've tried to setup a window recording, but I can't find the Zoom application under sources. Is there a way to bypass this? Or simply another way to record the Zoom-lecture?

Thanks a lot

You dont need OBS for this. Use Record Screen on Quicktime. You can record the full screen or select the Zoom video. For audio you can select your internal mic (not ideal but it works, you will be recording the audio coming out the speakers) or you can install an app like Loopback to create a virtual device and use it as a "mic".

I have recently started using iShowU Capture in place of Soundflower to record screen sound. Works well.
