Question / Help Recording stutters when game fps is over 60

So whenever I try to record anything, the recording always comes out really laggy and stutters all the time, unless the game I'm recording has its fps set to 60 (or whatever I'm recording at), which is a real pain because I hate turning on vsync as it causes huge amounts of mouse lag for me, especially with shooters.

Are there any settings I can change or some other way of getting around this problem?
