Question / Help Recording Snes9x?

I'm trying to record a rom corruption video to file and I kind of have a hard time.
Using the game as source mode I only get a black screen when recording.
Using a window as source and selecting Snes9x I do get the content, but the location is weird.
Either it fills most of the screen area but is cut off and I only get about 60% of it, or I get all of it but it's just a small part of the screen in the upper left corner.

I also tried the Video source plugin, but I I couldn't get it to work at all, I tried copying it all into the plugin directory, only the content of the "plugin" folder in the zip and the other files into the parent directory but nothing works.
I cannot get the dialog at all.

I really just want to record a very simple video, I don't get why this is so hard?

It's already working using a Window Source, you just need to resize it.

When it's up (but cut off or too small), right-click the window source in the Sources list and go to properties. Take note of the greyed out boxes under Sub-Region; that's the resolution of the window. Go to Settings -> Video and change the base resolution to the resolution of the source. (You'll need to stop and restart the preview for this to take effect).

Then, right-click the window source and go to Position/Size -> Fit to Screen.
