Question / Help Recording on 4k

Hello,

I want to play at 4k on my screen but only want to record at 1920x1080 but when I change the res it only records one 3rd of my screen. When I resize it with downscale I dont get 1920x1080 option as my screen size is 3440x1440 Why is that?

Right click game capture. Select "Position/size" --> "Fit to screen".

Yea I got that working, but now the problem is the downscale. How would I set it so it records at 1080p or 720p. as I have a 34inch super wide screen.

Set the base res at 1080p and roll with it. It's easier that way.

Playing at 1080p on a 34inch widescreen messes with your eyes lol, if I set the base res in OBS it only gives me one 3rd of my screen

I guess I could just use a external program like Sony Vegas to resize it.

I think D2Ultima meant you change the base res in OBS, not in your game. That way OBS would "run" at 1920x1080. You would have to fit your source to the scene once more to see everything, but it should work just fine.

Thanks that worked I did have to move the source around to fit right it will just cut off the extra of my screen.

That is why the "position/size --> fit to screen" was there. It should shrink the 4K input to the 1080p base OBS resolution for viewing.
