Question / Help Recording LoL has FPS drops despite having a very good PC

During the recording, my LoL doesnt have FPS Drops (or maybe just slightly but nowhere as much as my videofile), but the videofile has it.

I got an Intel Quadcore CPU i-4570 @ 3.20GHz, R9 270X Graphics-Card, 8GB Ram, and so on, everything is very good for games like League of Legends.
Also, my monitor only has 1680x1050, so that should be no problem to record in good quality with 60FPS.
I am using crf=20, since it doesnt record without fps drops

For the settings I have been using the ones recommended in this Guide:
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2972

is there an easy way to extract all my OBS settings into a textfile so I can show it to you? Just to make sure I didnt mess anything up.

The recorded videofile is having around 20-50 FPS I would guess, most of the time it looks good but here and there it "stutters" a little bit.
Sorry my english isnt the best, I hope you understand what I mean.

You probably are pushing a bit your i5 with 1050p60, you may want to monitor the cpu usage and check is not 100%
To extract your setting just post a log here (check help menu)

Same problem i'm describing into my topic also, you might want to check the video sample i've put in there and if the symptons are the same, then we can narrow the problem a bit.

Ok, so 1050p60 is too much for recording League of Legends with my i5-4570? I didnt expect that.
What can I then do to get it running? I dont want to go below 1050p. I will try it again with 40FPS or maybe even 30FPS in the video settings and post then again if it worked out better.

Maybe I should also try to use CRF 22 instead of CRF 20 ?

@JohnnyUSA: im downloading your vid now

Not entirely sure, but experience tells me that when your FPS drops and you have a well configured OBS, its the CPU to blame. Is very easy to confirm though, just monitor the CPU while you record and you'll see. Lowering FPS will definitely help if you find out the CPU usage is the problem

edit: Pretty sure is a CPU thing, logs confirms

Number of frames skipped due to encoder lag: 118 (5.68%)

Re: Recording LoL has FPS drops despite having a very good P

Ok I have set my FPS to 30 and now the recorded videofile looks like it has constant 30FPS.
During the recording I have observed my Taskmanager and the CPU Usage was around 60-80% all the time.
So I guess I have to make sure it never hits the 100% ?
Maybe I could record with 35FPS but going higher isnt possible without losing frames I guess?

Also, what can I do in my LoL settings? Wait for vertical sync on or off?
Anti Aliasing on or off?

Awesome. Yes, when your CPU reaches 100 is when frame drops occur. Also, you have a I5 so you can also try using Quicksync, it should allow you to make local recordings without using too much CPU.

Vsync off will give you more ingame FPS at the cost of some tearing when doing fast camera pans
Antialiasing dunno, you may want to experiment a bit :)

Since you are just local recording and bitrate isn't a factor, you could look into QuickSync to record at your full resolution at 60fps.

In the advanced settings I cant click on "Use quick Sync". It's greyed out in my settings.

I'm also wondering why my FPS in LoL are always at 60 (when playing) although I have activated "Unlimited Framecap" in the LoL settings.
Maybe my AMD Catalyst Control Center is the reason for it but I cant find any settings in there about Framerate.

Well, QuickSync requires having the latest intel GPU drivers installed, and then either connecting a monitor or enabling a virtual display to "activate" the GPU. Not all motherboards support it, though.

And yes, it's likely that Vsync is turned on in your drivers, overriding the game setting.
