Recording indication when recording full screen ?

Hi, I am using OBS Studio to record a "full screen" and am using a function key to toggle record mode but I sometimes lose track of the current setting (one of the indignities of age).
Is there a way to put a discreet "recording" indicator somewhere ounobtrusive (say near a corner) on the screen ??? A red dot would be fine or a short text string.
Regards, Dave

I've started doing this for one of my rigs:

Actually, it's more like this, with a different trigger. Either way works.

My actual trigger is a WebSocket message from a different, simultaneous instance of OBS and this plugin, but I think you get the idea. I control the whole rig from that other instance, and this one does what I told it and tells me it heard.

The notification goes away after a few seconds, but it's enough to tell me what it's doing. Then I remember from there.

Greetings,

If you are using Windows and "full screen" just means recording your entire monitor without the OBS window being visible, you can try OBS-HUD to see if it meets your needs: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-hud.1759/

However, the tool is not able to display its icons on top of a program/game using an exclusive rendering mode.

If you have any questions please let me know.
