Question / Help record stops after 3 seconds

hello.
i am using windows 7. and OBS beta (?) trying to record the game window of my this 3DGoGo2 game.
with the source as game capture. i start the record. and it seems to stop after 3 seconds. with the red letter warning
encoding too high (?)
i am not streaming. just record the video. to edit in windows live movie maker.
so i suppose i either have the wrong recorder or my settings are wrong.
any suggestions? thanks in advance

Your CPU is too weak for the settings you have selected, you should downscale your video and change the x264 preset to ultrafast or superfast

hi.
thank you for responding. umm, could you explain what you mean by "downscale your video" .
and when i changed th x264 setting i got a big warning saying i shouldnt do that ?

to give you an idea of what i'm trying to do and the problem i'm having. i'll post this vid. (nudity so watchout).
as you can see the motion isnt smooth but sort of jumpy.

Under the video menu of the settings window, there is a drop down box that has downscaled resolutions, maybe pick 480 or 560 as your vertical resolution.

The warning is to advise that what you are changing can have large effects on your stream quality and your computer usage.

It's possible that you don't have to change it and that downscaling will be enough, but don't lower below 480 without trying a faster x264 preset.
