I've been using OBS successfully about a year (starting with v. 23.2.1) on my Windows 7 PC, mostly for local recordings. Yesterday I updated to v. 26.0.2. After the update I can't record anymore. When I try, I get a popup box with, "Record error: An encoder error occurred while recording.". Now I've tried re-installing OBS fresh and the same behavior occurs. Log file is:
I'll point out that my problem is pretty similar to the question below from 2016, but the suggested fix (switch Recording Quality from "Same as stream" to "Indistinguishable quality") doesn't make any difference for me.
Any recommendations for next steps? Thanks in advance.

Question / Help - Cannot record after update
After updating OSB Studio I am not able to record anymore. I uninstalled the application, incudling removing all settings. Rebooted the computer, reinstalled the application, ran the update, and then reconfigured the settings based on screen shots of the old install. Now when I hit the button...
