Record Button Issue, it only works once

Hi,

I have been using the same OBS setup for awhile now, and recently updated 27.0.1 64bit version.

Lately there has been an interesting bug happening to me, and I am not sure why. When I hit the record button to record, it starts, the recording timer starts, the red circle comes on. When I hit the button to stop recording, it does, the video saves to where I want it to and it looks and sounds fine.

When I hit the record button again, nothing happens. I can click on and open other OBS menus, but it won't record.

When I close OBS, and try to open it again, I get a notice saying it is still running in the background, and I have to kill the task before I run OBS again.

When I tried setting up a hotkey to start and stop recording, the same thing happens, I can record once and stop, but I can't start recording again.

Oddly enough, the Pause function works just fine.

How do I fix this? Appreciate the help,

Check for a dialog box behind the OBS window asking if you want to overwrite the recording file. To stop this, in the Advanced->Recordings settings, check the box to overwrite existing files or add the time of day (%hh%mm%ss) to the filename formatting setting.

Same issue, and the solution doesn't work for me. I already had hours/min/sec in the filename format. Any other suggestions?

If you are using AMD, try changing the encoder to x264, as mentioned in this thread. https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...-work-2nd-time-without-restart-of-obs.140589/

It seems to have resolved my issue.
