I have a 56 down and 6 up internet connection.
Computer Specs:
i5-4570 3.2GHz
8GB Corsair RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti

OBS Settings:

Encoding

Use CBR (check)
Enable CBR padding(check)
Max Bitrate 4000
Buffer Size 4000

Video

Video Adapter: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti
Base Resolution: 1920x1080
Reso Downscale: 1.5 (1280x720)
Filter: Bilinear(fastest)
FPS:40

Advanced

x264 CPU Preset: veryfast
Use CFR (unchecked)
Customer x264 Encoder Settigns (unchecked)
Allow 61-120 FPS (unchecked)

I'm getting about 150-200 ping when streaming, and about 60-90 when not streaming. Is it normal to receive a bit more lag? Or are there any ideas to fix this? Thanks!

If you're getting high ping, that means your stream and the game are competing too much for your internet connection. First try enabling "Minimize Network Impact" in Broadcast Settings, and if that still doesn't help, try lowering the bit rate that you are streaming at.

I enabled what you said and that did decrease the lag ^^

I'm still hovering at 80-90 ping, but that's fine with me! I think my bitrate is fine at 4mb because I have a 6mb upload speed, but is there anything else that could lower my lag anymore? Thanks for the help!

actually 4000 is quite high twitch recommends not going over 3500 :/ then again for lol even 2000 bitrate at 720p is enough

also use the lanczos filter for best text quality

Yes, really. Twitch recommends going no higher than 3500, and in fact, they consider speeds much higher than that an abuse of their servers.

Plus, you can't really rely on quoted upload speeds, or even speedtest.net speeds for determining stream performance. Streaming and uploading a static file are two very different operations.
