Hi guys, my name's Aizen and I'm pretty new to desktop recording. What I'm trying to do is, record gameplay (for a game called Hearthstone) and also record myself from my webcam at the same time. For now I'm not doing streaming, just recording. Now, I've been able to achieve a pretty decent result with Mirills Action but I was hoping to get a similar result with OBS because I'd like to use something open source.

The problem I'm having is that that videos from OBS are really REALLY choppy, it's not just a little, it's unbearable. I'm not sure what configurations I can use (if any) to achieve a more smooth result like I was getting from Mirills Action. I read the sticky guides on how to do basic configurations and left most of the settings on default. The choppyness isn't so bad if I record just the game, but adding in the webcam seems to really cause problems with crappy frame rate and lack of smoothness.

Granted, my computer is low end but still I don't see why I can't get a result as smooth as I did with Mirills. If my computer was too weak, then I shouldn't have been able to do it with Action.

I'm running Win7 (aero is disabled), 32bit, AMD Phenom 8450 Triple Core, 4GB Ram and my video card is a 9500GT NVidia.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
