Random Encoder Overload While Streaming/Recording

I have been having this problem for a little bit now. Randomly I will get the encorder overload message for maybe 5 seconds and then itll go away. I wasnt seeing any frame drops, but I kept the stats dock open in my most recent stream and saw a couple times it happened no frame drops but FPS went down to about 28 from 60 a couple times but only for 5-10 seconds before being back to normal. I am only streaming stuff from consoles using a capture card, so the game isnt taking any real resources, I kept my task manager up and saw the GPU didnt get past 67% usage even when it was throwing the error message. Not sure what the issue here is or how to fix it, my computer should be more good enough for a 1080p stream

1. Killer's Software Suite is known for its poor performance and issues when trying to stream. Please download the package from the vendor's page , completely uninstall all Killer NIC items and run the installer, choosing to only install the Hardware Drivers.
2. In the encoder settings, disable Psycho Visual Tuning and set Multipass to Single Pass. Those both use additional GPU.
3. Your stream Stream scene contains your Modern scene which contains Display Capture. ONLY use Display Capture if you need to capture Windows stuff such as Desktop, Start menu, etc. It looks like you're not capturing Windows stuff so remove that.
4. Your Elgato Facecam has a resolution of 1920x1080 but is being down scaled to about 375x205. Lower the resolution on your cam to closer match what it's being re-sized to.

I thought I had removed the killer suite but guess it didnt take, but I changed the encoder settings you mentioned, the display capture stuff wasn't meant to be there, it was from something else I was testing and I brought the resolution of the webcam down to 960x540 and still getting roughly the same encoder/redering lag issues. I also did a full uninstall and reinstall of OBS since the last time.

1. 1.
2. Your GPU is maxed out and OBS can't render and encode scenes fast enough. Running a game without vertical sync or a frame rate limiter will frequently cause performance issues with OBS because your GPU will be maxed out. OBS requires a little GPU to render your scene.

Enable Vsync/Gsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit (60) that your GPU can handle without hitting 100% usage.

If that's not enough you may also need to turn down some of the video quality options in the game. If you are experiencing issues in general while using OBS, your GPU may be overloaded for the settings you are trying to use.

Please check our guide for ideas why this may be happening, and steps you can take to correct it: GPU Overload Issues. Your log shows Multipass and Psycho Visual Tuning still being enabled. Look-ahead enabled too at one point. Those ale all use additional GPU.
3. Your log contains streaming sessions with dropped frames. This can only be caused by a failure in your internet connection or your networking hardware. It is not caused by OBS but OBS can help. Follow the troubleshooting steps at: Dropped Frames and General Connection Issues. The quick fix is to enable Dynamic Bitrate in Settings, Advanced, Network.

The dropped frames may be due to the killer nic issue. If you already followed the analyzer instructions on this then the issue may be over the network itself, most probably caused by unstable ISP over rtmp protocol or a (wrongly called) network optimizer that you need to undo changes it made and remove it.
The log file shows only a 0.3% to 0.7% of encoder lag, which is probably only on the start, or when a bottleneck is encounter. Some plugins may cause this. It could be due to an issue on the GPU driver, or the GPU itself.

Yeah the dropped frames im not super concerned with here, my internet decided to crap out at the end of the stream so thats what thats from. I just upgrade to windows 11 and it seems like that might have been the issue for some reason.

Is it possible that something in my scene collection is bugged? I created a new profile and new scene collection, only put my game in there, nothing else, went for an hour with 0 missed or skipped frames. So in the new profile I pop over to my old scene collection with everything go for about an hour and still get the same amount of skipped/missed frames as I have been so I think its something with something else in the scene so I remove everything except my game and facecam, after about 20 minutes get a big spike of missed frames like usual.

It seems like its my vertical scene. With it set up the spikes come back. Going to have to figure out something else for my vertical content then

Contact the vertical scene plugin creator on it's subforum (if it's still in development). Go to the vertical scene plugins page in the resource section here and there look for Discussion tab in there.
Perhaps it was already discussed and solved.
