Capture Card: Avermedia Live Gamer HD

So I got a 4770k and Z87X-UD4H couple weeks ago. Been playing around with new toys XD

I was wondering if Quicksync offers any benefit with a capture card?

I do plan to do a 2 pc set up in the future have all the parts just gotta put it together. Till then I just use the Live Gamer HD to capture on the one set up.

Tried looking for info but didn't find much. Just throwing this out there see if anyone has any experience. Gotta a feeling this is just try it and see if it works for you situation.

I've played around with it some, it worked fine but if I don't need it then no point enabling it.

If it helps OBS Settings:
720p/60fps
Lanczos Filter
3000BR CBR
VeryFast Preset

On a single PC setup, if all you're capturing is your own computer, then the capture card will do nothing for you in terms of performance gain. QuickSync will take a great deal of load off your CPU, though the quality won't be quite as good as x264 for the same bit rate.

In a 2-PC setup, however, then the encoding is shifted to the second PC. So the capture card helps not because it reduces load, but it allows you to offload the encoding to a second computer. However, at that point, there's no reason to use QuickSync because you can just use x264 without fear of slowing down your performance on the main PC.
