Im using v0.625b OBS. Nvidia GTX 760 OC with latest 340.43 Beta drivers.

1. Do I have to turn on ShadowPlay to use Nvidia NVENC encoding?

2. If I use Nvidia NVENC encoding, what would be the best bitrate to use with twitch.tv?

3. What would be the best NVENC preset settings to use?

Thank you.

To get nvenc working with OBS, the only thing you need to install is the nvidia graphics driver. Nothing else, no other optional component that is offered by the nvidia driver installer. The nvenc support is built in the graphics driver. Think of Shadowplay as an application that records video - just like OBS. You don't need to start it if you use a different application like OBS.

1. No.
2. 3500 or less; as low as possible while still generating acceptable quality. Same as always.
3. Default. The most appropriate preset will be selected automatically based on your stream resolution and frame rate.

Please keep in mind that as a hardware encoder NVENC does not compress video as efficiently as x264 and should only be used as an alternative when you're having performance issues. x264 should always be your first choice if your CPU is up to the task.
