So I have been trying to get OBS setup to record locally and stream.
After working out a few things I became quickly apparent that whenever I preview, stream or record locally my laptop began to lag, high cpu usage would pop up in obs. So after some digging and tweaking in OBS nothing was working. I happen to have the task manager up at some point and noticed CPU utilization @ 45% and speed @ .78ghz <- ok something is wrong here.
Shutting down OBS the CPU would recover and be back running between 2.2 to 2.8ghz after a few minutes.
After some thought and tweaking with throttle stop i managed to work around the throttling issue, but what in OBS causes the cpu to flat line so bad? Temps never got above 70 mostly hovered around 65ish once i got the throttling fixed, it never happens with fraps or other capture software in the past.
