I use a 2 PC setup for gaming and streaming. I want to connect an USB mixer with a studio mic. for streaming. I wanted to know can i connect my gaming headset with mic. into the mixer and connect my studio mic. for the stream and if so, should the mixer be connected into my gaming PC or streaming PC? Or should is it just better to leave my gaming headset/mic connected to my gaming PC and just connect my mixer to the streaming? Thanks.

How are you going to be using the Headset microphone? I am building my second PC right now for Streaming/Encoding, but I have my mixer use my studio mic as my communication microphone for Skype/Raidcall etc as well.

I was wondering if i could wire in my gaming headset/mic. and use my studio mic for the stream. Are you connecting your mixer to the streaming PC via USB?

My original plan was or is, connect my mixer into my streaming PC. Then pull the audio from the OUT of the gaming PC sound card to the IN channel of the mixer. Then Master out to the Line in of the sound card of the streaming PC to control the game audio. Then i would also connect my studio mic via XLR to the mixer. But i was wondering if i can also connect my gaming headset/mic to the mixer and send back the audio to the gaming PC so i can also control the headset/mic with the mixer. Right now, i have my headset connect directly to the sound card and a split the out to the headset and mixer.

I'm not using the USB option on my Mixer because I hate USB interfaces due to my issues with my Scarlett products and OBS.

So you want to use the studio microphone to send out to the stream, but you ALSO want to use your headset Mic for (I'm assuming) monitoring everything in the Mixer going to the stream and also talking?

Also talking to my gaming PC...yes.

Well it all is situational.

Are you monitoring everything from the Mixer that goes to the stream?
Why don't you use the streaming microphone for the Gaming PC as well (one less mic to use if your Mixer has an AUX send)?

Actually, that's probably a better idea. So, i would still connect my mic via XLR but how do i send the mic. audio back to my gaming PC, if the master out is going to the IN of the streaming PC's sound card?

Now it comes down to your mixer. Does it have an AUX option on it? Can you post a picture of the mixer?

Perfect, so basically, you would turn your FX Send knob up on the MIC ONLY! then you'll need a 1/4" to 3.5mm (with a ground loop isolator to prevent interference) into the Mic input of your soundcard. Set any of your Communication programs to use that Microphone input as your setting.

To test how it sounds, you'll need to do a "Listen" on that recording device in the windows settings or just have someone listen to the other end to make sure it sounds good. The FX send will make it so anything with the knob turned up will go into the FX Send of the computer input. Make sure you turn it down on all other channels so they don't hear anything else but you're mic.

Just to make sure I'm understanding you correctly, besides my XLR mic input, i also use the 1/4" FX send jack to the mic in of the gaming PC? And use the master out to the line in of my streaming PC for everything else? This actually makes perfect sense and i can just use my studio mic for both. What USB should i plug in the mixer to...the gaming or streaming PC? Or is it just easier to us the mixer's power supply to power the mixer and mic?

Correct, you don't have to change anything on your current setup.

Just get a 1/4" to 3.5mm cord (and maybe a ground loop isolator) and go from the FX SEND to your Mic input. Use the FX knob to adjust the volume, and test it in the windows Recording Devices settings.

Well man, you've been a big help, thank you. My last question..i promise ;) I've never seen a 3.5mm to 1/4" with ground loop isolator...do you have a link to purchase one?
