Just like the topic says...
I have two Rocware RC20 PTZ cameras that I would love to control via OBS using something like PTZoptics Control plugin.
However, the cameras have USB and 8-pin RS-232 (round) ports — no Ethernet. I can find no reference that they have IP addresses, so PTZoptics freebies seem to be out of the realm. FYI, the IR remote on these is EXACTLY the same as PTZoptics. But I tried PTZoptics IR remote shortcut for showing the IP address (*+#+4), no dice, probably proprietary.
The specs say the cameras can be fully controlled via UVC. While OBS displays the cameras, it does not seem to recognize even basic UVC such as brightness, etc. But, I am unsure if I fully understand UVC capabilities, as I usually did video tweaks via filters.
It's not the end of the world if I can't control the cameras via software, as I plan to use position/zoom presets. But to not have to grab a remote, press the corresponding camera button, and then press the preset or manually pan, tilt, zoom... would be nice.
Additionally, I have considered finding a way to assign an IP address to a local USB, striking out. And have considered faking far-end control but, that seems like a fail point waiting to happen.
