I've searched the forums and the most recent thread I found was close to a year old so I'm posting this in hopes that a solution has been found since then.
I am trying to set up a very basic stream to learn how everything works before I make a more serious attempt at regularly streaming. The hardware I have right now is unlikely to be what I will use moving forward, however I would like to know more about how streaming works before I buy a new setup. I have an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with two graphics cards, in Device Manager they are listed as:
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series
and
Intel(R) HD Graphics
From searching the forums I have found that I need to open the AMD Catalyst Control Center and manually change the OBS software to run on the High Performance setting. I have done this a few times, including removing the program, reinstalling, and trying again. I still run into the problem of a black screen when I select the "Monitor Capture" option in Sources. Also, when I open the Video tab in Settings, I still only see the Intel(R) HD Graphics card in the drop down menu.
I have included the log file below due to some problems attaching the file to this thread. It seems to say the Intel(R) HD Graphics Card is still the one in use. I don't understand why at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
