Question / Help Problem with OBS

hey :)

im trying to record some match of Age Of Empire II Expansion
but when i try to start i got black screen i dont know what i need to do i dont have totally experience with this thing
i use computer not laptop
i tryed to record my monitor too but it not working
can someone tell me what setting i need and why i got black screen ?

Fast sugestion, run the game in windowed mode (borderless or something) that can help you avoid the black screen.

the problem its not the game because i cant record even the monitor

First of all, you have no sources in your scene. Right click the Sources box and say "Add" to add a source to your scene.

Second of all, I'm fairly sure AoE2 is a DirectDraw game, which means you won't be able to capture it with Game capture. You'll have to play the game in Windowed mode and capture with Window capture, or attempt to use the experimental DirectDraw plugin from bl00draven: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5770

Third of all, your hardware is very underpowered for streaming. Dual-core processor s are notoriously bad for live video encoding, so you're going to need to set your settings down a lot. I recommend downscaling by 2x-3x, running at 25fps, and changing the x264 preset to superfast or ultrafast.

If he means AoE2:HD edition from Steam, then it should be working. Just checked myself and everything captures just fine.
