Private and Public Stream?

You can use the built in streaming in OBS to do public (Facebook, Restream, Twitch, YouTube, etc.) stream and the Multiple RTMP outputs plugin to a private stream (such as a local or remote RTMP server) for a private stream but it's going to be the same content.

I don't mind if it's the same content. That would actually be perfect. While my wife is streaming publicly to a website, I would like access to that same stream locally on my laptop in a different room. Will that be hard to do?

It depends on your computer experience. I followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJaz59ZHgCo . I had to adjust the Windows Firewall on the streaming computer but I could then watch on the same network (VLC on my phone, Chromecast, etc). Once you get that setup, you could watch the stream on laptop with VLC.

This different tutorial here but same thing

Ok. Just so I'm clear on this, you're saying that while my wife is using OBS for her livestream to a website, I can also at the same time be able to see her livestream on my phone via VLC media player or also via VLC from my laptop or PC? The video link you sent me will allow me to do this? Thank you again for your help

Yes, you will need to open some ports on the streaming computer and then use the IP address of streaming computer to watch with VLC.

So when I open VLC on my phone, I navigate to "More" then choose "New Stream" and then that's where I will put the ip address of my wifes streaming computer?

If I do what you stated here, is that also in conjunction with the tutorial video you posted earlier? Just trying to wrap my head around what all is going on here. My wife streams to a website by using the OBS software. She puts the webaddress that she streams to in OBS but the website tells her to leave the stream key blank in OBS. That's how we setup her stream. Because I can't view that stream which is going to a website, I want to use the same video she's taking with her cam to also send to me or allow me to access while it's happening.
