I'v just picked up battle field 4 and i want to stream it, now i know its very taxing on a cpu but i can run the game fine in ulta settings while not streaming, my Q. here is does the obs preview mode simulate streaming? as in if i can get it to run find while previewing will it still bee the same when i stream it? Or is streaming more taxing then preview. the internet usage is not an issue.

as long as you dont have the "disable encoding while previewing" option checked in advanced options.

Thanks, no that was not checked. I'm now very pleased :)
when initially setting up, I typically make sure that I am previewing the game I am planning on streaming. make sure it shows up in the preview window or x264 wont be taxing the CPU. I also have a task manager up when I test a new setting to ensure I never go above 80% usage at any given time. also, online play is more taxing than single player, keep this in mind. just like in CS:GO a 120 tick server will tax the CPU more than a 66 tick server will.

i wont be playing online but thats a good thing to know thanks, also as BF4 is a cpu taxing game i have switched from x264 to nvidia NVENC to releave some stress, from what i have read that was the right thing to do. if you could comfirm that, that would be awesome.

thats just smart load balancing.
