Please -NEW FEATURE - AUDIO ONLY RECORDING

Presently recording in OBS captures screen and audio simultaneously.
The volume of the file is bigger, as this also captures, screen, camera, image etc.
It is difficult to EXTRACT AUDIO from the video file from the recorder. Extracting audio is a time consuming process
Please therefore add an option under START RECORDING button , RECORD AUDIO ONLY.
Also provide under SETTING >OUTPUT >RECORDING ..Output format for Audio Only recordings mp3 , wav, etc
This feature will definitely reduce file size. Also , it is easy to record long speeches, without losing much disk space.

I'm with @rockbottom
OBS is a video compositing tool, which naturally supports audio. There are LOTS of lighter weight/system impact tools than OBS for audio only recording
And have you tried recording in OBS *WITHOUT* a Video source? what happens then, when you record? [sorry not in front of OBS PC to test myself]. ie remove the Display Capture source, and the 2 Audio sources??? maybe just odd (translated?) naming...

Then, there are probably better options, but for testing, record to MKV as you do now (with no video content), auto remux to MP4...
Hopefully, without a video source, file size should be smaller... but default may still be a video (vs audio only) file per OBS default. It should be quick and easy to remux file to be audio only (without re-encoding and potential quality impact)

It is difficult to EXTRACT AUDIO from the video file from the recorder.

Given how a single command line with ffmpeg is able to isolate individual audio tracks in a video file into separate audio files, this is wrong.
