Question / Help Pixlelated/fuzzy stream

Dear OBS community,

I am a twitch streamer that is fairly new. When I stream, the video is fairly pixleated. Usually streamed at 720p @40 fps

My bitrate is set at 1600 but once I increase it past 1600 my ping goes way over 150.

How do I fix the fuzzy stream and save my ping , thanks

You might want to reduce your framerate to 30 (I don't know why you'd want to use 40 fps anyway).

The bitrate fluctuates a bit, so if you set it over 1600 it might use up all of your speed so keep it at 1600.

1600 bitrate is a bit insufficient for 720p, especially 40fps. I would recommend using 2000 at least for 720p 30fps. probably 2500 for something like 40fps, and 3000 for 60fps. If you only have 1600, I would recommend using more downscale instead.

Increased ping in games can be reduced with the "minimize network impact" option in broadcast settings, though if you are using too much of your bandwidth, it won't really help, and the only option is to really lower your bitrate further to make more room for your game's bandwidth.
