Question / Help Pixelated Game While Streaming

So, I recently started streaming, and because of my poor upload speed I generally stream games like "Papers, Please" and others like that.

But for some reason when I try to stream games like "Hearthstone" or "Battleblock Theatre" the stream becomes very pixelated. I was just wondering if there was anything to possibly fix my issue.

I understand that it could be related to my poor upload speed, but I don't understand why games that don't use a great deal of bandwidth are pixelating.

Thank You!

Ok so.. Not sure what your upload max is so cant really tell you a good bitrate/buffer.

Make sure your avoiding Monitor capture if at all possible as it'll be a waste of resources/put more pressure on your PC, you can also try disabling Aero.

Streaming over wireless is a really bad idea, While this can be OK, keep in mind that interference from other radio sources or obstacles can cause your connection to momentarily stall, resulting in dropped frames or disconnects. A wired connection is strongly recommended for a reliable stream. IT does certainly seem that wireless is affecting your stream issues from the log.

Grab this JTVPing and see which server has the loweset/best connection/ms for you, the one you were connecting to was taking quite a while, which could also just be due to wireless.

With a low upload speed you wont be able to push a bitrate for 1920/1080p, depending on your upload I would attempt 720p down sampling or 480p.

You can also attempt to disable CBR and choose your Bitrate/buffer accordingly and it could help abit, twitch/OBS does recommend CBR, but your not forced to use it.

Make sure your Keyinterval is set to 2 as well, and you may want to lower the res. of your webcam as well to slim down the amount of information your sending, and pressure your putting on the PC/network.

Here is the Analyzer you can put your log into and see alot of the same recommendations.

Also the OBS estimator based on some raw idea's of your PC/network setup.

Hope this helps a bit :)

not surprising, as 850 kbps is incredibly low for a 1080p recording. Encoder just doesn't have the "space" to properly "store" all the information in the image, thus it "truncates" some of it to fit the limit - thus the pixellation. You will have to increase bitrate significantly if you want a non-pixellated picture.
