Question / Help Ping spikes by 100-200 when I start streaming

I'm sure this has been asked and solved many times, but I just started using OBS and whenever I start streaming my ping spikes quite a bit. I've lowered the bitrate steadily and it goes down by maybe 5-10 ping every 200-300 bitrate. Please help forum gods!

We have an option specifically to reduce game ping in broadcast settings: 'minimize network impact'. It should be able to help a bit if you're not using it already.
