Post a log from the attempt with Metro Last Light.

@xSonic521x No, I don't know what the problem could be, in a earlier log OBS could not get the frames from the GPU in time, this usually indicates the GPU being under heavy load and not leaving any room for OBS to do it's thing.
In the last log posted there was almost no problem for OBS:

download_frame: min=0 ms, median=0.002 ms, max=29.767 ms, 99th percentile=16.408 ms
obs_video_thread(16.6667 ms): min=8.121 ms, median=16.667 ms, max=135.713 ms, 97.6946% within ±2% of 16.667 ms (1.11202% lower, 1.19338% higher)

These numbers are much better then in the first log, though not perfect, but that could be solved by setting vsync and not letting Overwatch run at max fps, this goes for pretty much every game.

OK Here's the Metro Last Light benchmark run 5 consecutive runs, OBS framerate dipped throughout, strange audio issue was only present in the first test but did pop a little and stutter in other runs. https://gist.github.com/6c7f69a711ff4aa4d7d2e30c04a31286 1080P, everything maxed except VSync and Motion Blur which are turned off. Ran a second set of 5 Last Light benchmarks with OBS closed and while video performance was mostly the same, Audio performance was MUCH smoother.

OK but regardless of the result... I'm using some of the highest-end hardware available XD not to brag but why is this even an issue???

Letting games run at max fps, will overload the GPU enough for OBS to slow down, OBS also needs a bit of GPU power.

Looking through this, I had VSync enabled... and I even set my monitor refresh rate to 60 Hz and restarted the benchmark. idk why it shows higher fps

looks like metro was still running at 80+ fps with VSync enabled, let me see if restarting my whole system will change the refresh rate that vsync reads

Perhaps try just running the regular game instead of the benchmark? Perhaps the benchmark ignores the vsync setting.

Blackdahlia, I noticed you have a quite a few browser sources. If you create a new scene collection, with only the game capture source and only one scene, does this help the issue? You may need to restart OBS afterwards so it only loads the game capture source, I've also noticed OBS likes to keep browser sources active in the background causing issues.

I ask, because I've had issues with browser sources causing jitter at 60fps when the sources are at 30 fps. For whatever reason OBS just doesn't like it that way and starts lagging.

I'm at work at the moment so I can't fiddle with the scenes atm but yesterday I did try it out with just game+display capture and my Webcam and it does work much more smoothly. If I have to I can remove some of the browser stuff for now but it's my twitch alerts, chat box, and Kappagen and with the exception of Kappagen, this is all stuff that I want and find necessary. I'm cool with a temp solution like just disabling some of my browser stuff but it seems like a lame bandaid to a fundamental flaw in OBS

Yea I actually have had the thought in the back of my mind about nvidia drivers! I already use DDU so I'm familiar with its use :) I'll get back to you on results with older drivers
