Hello everyone, i've been streaming for a while now and i gave upgraded my setup and it currently looks like this:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1400
GPU: GTX 1050 Ti
RAM: 8GB
It's a pretty mediocore setup. So i've been thinking of changing my CPU to raise the quality of the stream.
I am using the PRIME A320M-K motherboard and i am thinking of getting either Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 7 1700x.
Which one is the better option, is my mboard gonna support those and how much is my stream quality going to be affected by it?

To answer the direct question of whether your motherboard will support it, that is a definite yes.

The question of which is the "better option" is really down to how you're going to be using it. Do you have an aftermarket cooler? Do you plan on overclocking? The 1700 can usually be overclocked to match the 1700x with a little bit of tweaking, so if there's a sizeable price gap between the two, then that might be your better option.

That said, the improvement in stream quality depends entirely on what your settings are now, and what you're planning on going to. It would help to know what settings you're using right now, and possibly check a log file of a recent recording/streaming session to see if you're running into any issues.

I am currently unable to provide a log file but the thing is, i have a pretty high cpu usage on relatively small games, which makes me think i am having CPU issues. I am streaming with around 3k bitrate with a "fast" encoder setting in 720p.
Both the game and the stream tend to drop fps and when i am nit streaming, fps on those games goes over 120 every time.

Ok, so from the log it doesn't look like you're running into any issues on the OBS side of things... but then again, it's just 720p30 that you're encoding.

I will mention though that you're running an out-of-date version of OBS -- that version has a broken auto-updater, so you'll have to go to the main webpage to download the latest version (23.0.2 at the current moment).

But to the main point... yeah, go for the upgrade. It'll definitely give you more CPU headroom, and you shouldn't have any issue with just dropping it in.
