Hi,
I am currently building a new computer with the aim of casting TF2 from Australia. My upload speed is typically best to Singapore which from what I have seen ranges from 2.5 - 10 (fibre connection with 40 up to Sydney) but normally seems to sit around 3 during peak times. Without quality options for my Twitch stream at best I will only intentionally stream at 720p 60fps however I would like to have the capacity to stream at 1080p 60fps on the hardware side should my connection be sufficient (which it probably isn't). This PC may also be used to cast Dota2.
I have been streaming on my current setup with a bitrate of about 1.3 however whether I am dropping on frames seems to vary greatly... I appear to be using a significant proportion of my 4gb of RAM when I am. I think I could successfully stream at a bitrate closer to 2 but time will tell with the new hardware.
TF2 is a CPU-intensive game. I will be salvaging my Sapphire Radeon 7870 2GB GPU as well as 2 HDDs and all peripherals for this build.
Here is a draft of my build: http://i.imgur.com/0jRYpYl.png I am buying a modmic for my AD700s as my current Microsoft Lifecam does not produce the highest quality sound but more importantly picks up much of my typing. I went for the i7 over the i5 on the basis that the i5 does not have hyper-threading, which to my understanding is important for streaming. I went with the slightly more expensive motherboard as it had the capacity for a second 7870 if necessary. I chose the 750w version of the gold to ensure I had the capacity to add a second GPU.
I realise this is an OBS forum but given that I would be using OBS to stream I was hoping you could help. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
