What's LFS.exe? Your computer definitely seems fine, but there seems to be some configuration issue with game capture. What game is it that you're trying to capture?

Okay, I feel like something's possibly interfering. These could be other capture programs, game mods and graphics mods (sweetfx in particular), graphics card utilities like msi afterburner or the EVGA 'Z boost' feature (I think it's called), or programs that put in custom in-game overlays for their program, such as teamspeak/mumble overlays. If you have any of those things active, try to see if disabling them helps out first.

alright

but i have been able to record footage with no hassle before, i havent changed anything recently. that could have possibly cause this overlay. but as of now, i can record the desktop, but when i switch to the game it just goes black, i can hear the game but no video.

I have tried using another program (DxTory) and it worked, problem is those files are humongous, and thats why i rather use OBS.

if anyone has had a problem with overlays causing a black screen please help.

heres a video log from the last time i was able to record gameplay.

Yea, in that particular log file, it says the hook was successful.

You say "problem with overlays causing a black screen", does this mean you have an overlay active? Steam/Uplay don't count by the way.

i dont have any known overlays running. im really confused as to what "overlays" may be causing this the only other programs i have running in the background are steam and geforce experience with shadow play off.

anything unusual in the taskmanager

I'm not sure what's going on still, I feel like it's possible game capture wasn't configured correctly in some of these cases, though I couldn't say for sure without being in front of the computer. I'm just not entirely sure unfortunately. I know it's difficult that I don't always have the answer.

However, if you need a way to make capture a little bit easier, here's a common thing to do: run the game in a borderless/windowed mode, then instead of using game capture, use window capture (with aero enabled for better performance).
