We are looking for an XCapture-1, or something that will take HDMI input (720p x 60fps) and send to a PC via USB 3.0. have you tried that device? Does it work? If so, can you tell us where you bought it? We can only find it on a Japanese site.

Of course the device works, as long as you have a supported USB 3.0 chipset. The device is only available for end users in Japan, so naturally you will only find it on a Japanese import site, most likely Solaris Japan.

Yep, I sent him the link. Device works great! (Had to go through 2 motherboards to find right USB 3.0 ports. Go with ASrock boards, they all have at least 2 native intel ports which work)

Thanks for the reply and the lead on Solaris. I see where we can buy, but now have to ask about your comment that says the device is only available for end users in Japan. Does that mean there is something that would prevent it from being used commercially in the U.S.?

No? It just means that there are no US retailers, or companies selling rebrands of the device.

There is no reason to suggest a user limit him or herself to a specific motherboard manufacturer, and suggesting that any and every board from a particular manufacturer will have an Intel or Renesas USB 3.0 controller seems unwise to say the least. Streamers interested in the XCAPTURE-1 or other USB 3.0 capture device with specific controller requirements should verify the motherboard specifications, not rely on a brand name.
