Question / Help Opening Internet Browser = Black Screen

Allright, for the past 3 updates (v0.633b-v0.635b) i have been trying to record or stream with my OBS software, and i keep getting a warning that basically says "Disable Webroot because security features block Windows GDI functions, because it may prevent you from being able to stream certain things." What i didnt know is that if i open up ANY internet browser (Chrome, Internet Exploerer, FireFox) It gives the software a black screen. Now i do see that it also says not to post a bug report, but i find that this is alittle unfair, i dont want to use Fraps or any of my other recording softwares because OBS is probably the greatest thing thats ever happened to me *and my channel*.

Ive tried to "Alow" OBS and its specific folders to be passed by my Webroot, but it still dosent work. But it only creates a black screen on any scene when i open up my internet browsers (Like to watch the stream on twitch in my second monitor, or playing music from youtube minimized)...

I dont know if the developers are specifically aware at what is causing the black screen, and i rly need to know if this will be fixed in the future, or if they are making this a priority or not. I would like to have my software back, i need it =(

Thanks, Frank

P.S, I know someone will say "why not just turn off the security system on your computer", the point is i dont HAVE to turn it off if its a problem. That's like giving a room of people soup that is bolted to the table, and you give 10% of the people in the room forks instead of spoons. You can say "well if you just bend over and try to use your mouth, you would eat your soup" wouldn't that be stupid if you had to smash your face into a tiny bowl just to eat? Answer: Yes, yes it would.

One of the primary purposes of webroot is specifically to block capturing of web pages and such for the sake of security/privacy. If adding an exception doesn't work and you don't like that functionality, then there's nothing I can do outside of either say "don't capture your web pages", or possibly even "don't use webroot", though you've already said that you do not wish to stop using it so there's nothing more I can really do.

Allright, thanks Jim. I'll see what i can do on my end. I hope in the future you figure out a way to fix it for other people with the same problem.

It's not a situation that needs fixing on the end of OBS. It's a choice you yourself make, to use the security software or to not use the security software. It would be wrong to write hacks to bypass webroot's intended functionality. There is plenty of other good security software out there that does not block capture of web pages.
