Ok, I'll try troubleshooting again. Elgato Game Capture 4k60 pro MK2 framerate inconsistencies

I'm sorry about my ranting thread--I didn't know it would get closed, and I had NO idea that others here have used it in OBS without problems--that took me completely by surprise. Since I had recently looked up the card on Gemini and Grok, they told me that the card is extremely problematic, so learning that others aren't having these problems really confused me.

The issue I'm having is inconsistent framerates. I get the most consistent framerates when the source and video settings are set for 60fps. The consistency only gets worse when I change both of those to 30fps. And 24fps is utterly unusable, it's absolutely horrid. Gemini says that 24fps doesn't work well on the card because it's designed around game capture, not capturing from a mirrorless camera. Is Gemini wrong?

I DO appreciate the help people have given me in the past, the effort at least, but I've been frustrated with the troubleshooting techniques that have been used by this forum. People will look at my log file and just pick completely random things for me to change, things that are completely unrelated to my problems. I've explained that the inconsistent framerates happen before I've even started recording or streaming, that it can be seen in the OBS video window, but that doesn't matter, I'm supposed to try every suggestion regardless or I get accused of not wanting to find the solution to the problem. They won't give other possible solutions until I try the things they say.

Like getting told to change my audio settings from 320 to some other number. Or telling me to start with a completely blank profile with no other capture devices (regardless of if they're disabled), no screen captures, nothing, a completely blank scene, and that I should always have it completely blank. Suggestions like changing my compression settings, my choice of using mp4 instead of mkv. Again, things that make no sense whatsoever as to why it would affect the framerates I see in the OBS window when I'm not recording or streaming. As I said in the other post that was locked, I have no issues whatsoever when using the Cam Link 4K device, perfect uninterrupted framerates.

And eventually people just stop responding--the problem ends up being in total limbo. This is why I had originally given up on it, but learning that there ARE people using it with OBS without these issues makes me want to try troubleshooting again. I'll probably be disappointed again though, I hope for the best but expect the worst. I've attached the latest log file. Please don't tell me to change random unrelated things as the "answer".

Thanks very much.

hi, I understand your frustration but I do want to say that sometimes troubleshooting steps that seem useless/unrelated to you are actually providing useful info to the person asking you to go through them, not everything someone will tell you will be an immediate fix.

lets start here, considering something you mentioned in your previous thread it is a good thing to check.
