Question / Help OBS wont record GTA 5 (Need help)

Fraps will interfere with the OBS game capture source, so close it first. If that doesn't work then check the stickied posts at the top of the forum and provide a log file.

Hi, you can't capture the game with OBS if Fraps is running. The game won't allow it. The game also won't allow you to re-capture with OBS if you reset the game capture. What I do is run DxTory for the virtual camera feed as a backup in case OBS' game capture derps or resets. I have a video capture of DxTory in OBS which is already in my scene so I can quickly switch in case I need to.

No, Fraps is closed its just that whenever i record any other game, it records but when i try and record GTA 5, it just goes black.

Then DxTory could still be a workable workaround. But it's weird that OBS won't capture the game. Are you running it from Steam? Maybe the Steam overlay is causing problems.
