Question / Help OBS Won't launch?

Whenever I try to launch OBS, absolutely nothing happens. I've tried running as Administrator and all sorts of Compatibility settings, and still nothing. It launched the first time I installed it, but after I closed it the first time, it won't open again. The only time I get it to open is when I uninstall it, restart my computer, and install it again, which is far too tedious a process for how often I like to stream. Any solutions?

Have you tried the 64bit version as well? Sounds potentially like anti-virus quarantining it or something. Sometime happens with certain anti-virus just simply because it's unsigned.

I'm pretty sure I'm running the 64bit version, as I have a 64-bit system. Also, I disabled my antivirus and it's still happening. I don't get any sort of message after trying to open it, it just doesnt happen...

What about the 32bit version then? (Both will work fine on a 64bit system). Extremely unusual though, this sort of stuff never really happens just so you know. Very unlikely to be OBS' fault at that point.

Jim, I hate to tell you, but I'm getting this exact same problem, and I doubt we both have the same computer.... it worked fine when I had installed and opened it. I closed it, and now it wont launch. I'm running windows 8.1, so thinking it may be a compatibility issue, tried running the compatibility troubleshooter, but nothing, tried running as an administrator. tried going to the source and running it straight from the application instead of using a shortcut. still nothing.

I spent ages wracking my brain to work out why, and on a whim, checked my task manager. apparently obs was running, even though it wasn't actually running. I ended the task, then tried launching again, and this time it worked. closed and relaunched a couple of times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but that seems to have fixed the problem for me.
