OBS will not connect to Facebook Live

since the last update to OBS, we have been unable to connect to the Facebook Live server. When we run the connection test using the connection wizard, the OBS display window goes fuzzy like the Facebook window usually does but the Facebook window does nothing. We get the message that the connection has been made but the connection fails when we hit go live in OBS. We verified the Facebook live server was selected in OBS but could not find a place to verify that it was pointed at the correct server. This is the third week in a row that we have not been able to broadcast our Church service to Facebook for our shut-in members and we need help figuring out what is wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
re-installed OBS, checked for updates (none) and still cannot connect to Facebook. here is this morning's log file if that helps.

More general observations/comments

1. Are you intending to stream at such a low resolution?
10:15:00.490: video settings reset:
10:15:00.490: base resolution: 1920x1080
10:15:00.490: output resolution: 852x480
You are creating extra work for computer to rescale the video. Presuming you have 3-4mb/s upstream bandwidth available, you should be able to stream at 1080p. We've been streaming 1080p30 at 7mb/s to FB for years (was a problem on 10mb/s DSL at start of COVID-19, and we had to lower streaming rate 5+ yrs ago, but then ISP did a WAN upgrade and we've been all set since.

2. If you are on a cellular link, or end of a really long DSL line, with really limited upload bandwidth, then I get the low res streaming rate, otherwise, I'd seriously consider matching base and output resolution. If Guest WiFi using bandwidth is a problem, then I'd configure (or get) a router/firewall and set Quality Of Service for stream traffic to be prioritized well above Guest WiFi and probably all other traffic (relatively easy to set up).

3. And then there is the camera
- Not my area, but is that the right color space (format) for the camera?
And having an audio sampling rate that doesn't match your stream settings, may or may not cause issues (presuming you aren't using audio from that camera?) If you are using Audio from the camera, then I'd definitely recommend you change (at Operating System level) Audio sampling rate to be consistent

Thanks for the suggestion. I removed McAfee from this computer and deactivated the Windows Security. This did not help. Here is the log from Today's attempt. OBS actually started streaming but Facebook Live did not receive the broadcast. I kept trying and finally got Facebook to show the start streaming button and was able to click it, but nothing happened. I kept getting the message that I needed to connect my streaming software. Please help.

Another thing is that I am getting the error message that the encoder failed to initiate. The only plug-in I have for OBS is the Move plug-in.

Thanks for the suggestion. I removed McAfee from this computer and deactivated the Windows Security.
I would not recommend removing 3rd party AV and then also disabling all forms of Windows Security. For testing only, I get it, but Windows Security has been fine for us on FB livestreaming for years.
I also, run as regular (local) user, with no local admin rights. I also connect to FB using InPrivate mode (as I do for almost all web surfing/connections).

Also you have both AMD (Radeon) and nVidia (GT 1030), right?
But OBS Studio only showing
10:06:38.413: Available Encoders:
10:06:38.413: Video Encoders:
10:06:38.414: - ffmpeg_svt_av1 (SVT-AV1)
10:06:38.414: - ffmpeg_aom_av1 (AOM AV1)
10:06:38.414: - h264_texture_amf (AMD HW H.264 (AVC))
10:06:38.414: - h265_texture_amf (AMD HW H.265 (HEVC))
10:06:38.414: - obs_x264 (x264)

So earlier in the OBS Studio log, it obviously sees the GT 1030, but it would appear a driver issue preventing OBS Studio from using it for encoding ... nevermind... just checked... the 1030 doesn't support NVENC. Not great options... AMD supposedly has finally done a bit better for H.264 driver support (historically been pretty bad)... not sure that is available/working for your model Radeon.

And 8GB RAM is on the low side for the Operating System. *IF* your plan is to keep using the same system, with Win11, I'd seriously consider getting
- at least 8GB, more RAM, especially if System monitoring indicates getting low on RAM , which I'd be hard-pressed to think it isn't (unless really well optimized). Yes, an 8GB system can work, with expertise... otherwise way too easy to have problems, and Operating System updates, though necessary, aren't helping
- and possibly looking into a GT 1660 Super or newer (Turning based NVENC) (unless a RTX 3xxx is only slightly more)
both of the above, *only* if you can find them for cheap, otherwise a newer system may well be a better value

Thanks for the suggestions. We have been using this system on Facebook Live for over a year now with no issues until the last OBS update and the Window's update (happened at the same time). My OBS settings are all set to match the output with the input but for some reason the auto configuration tool changes them when it tries to connect with Facebook. I removed a driver for the GT1030 last night and was able to connect to Facebook (after the connection dropped a couple times between OBS and FB) but I only got a static screen in FB. I am not a programmer or a computer specialist so I am stumbling around in the dark as to what happened a few weeks ago to change everything. I am the only one at our congregation of elderly folks who is willing to tackle this issue but I am just guessing. We've been doing FB Live for nearly 4 years and have upgraded our system within the last year. I will try to upgrade the memory but I still believe there is a software conflict somewhere in the mix that is causing the issue. I have tried to contact FB with no luck to see if there is a problem with my account for some reason since they changed their video post retention policy recently. I really appreciate everyone trying to assist.

Yea, good luck getting a response from Facebook. as in... don't count on it... a 'feature' of using a 'free' service

Unfortunately, using a bunch of free services means you are your own tech support.
Facebook has been changing their back-end systems, without decent notification (if any) so many folks having issues... and can be tricky to troubleshoot with Operating System and Security software both coming into play with certificate connections

This tends to be a case of 'pick your poison'. For our house of worship, I'm still running on OBS Studio 26. Why? 'cuz it works fine, and I have no need of any newer features.. yet (and I still hate Win11 and am avoiding it for the time being and appreciate the recent 1 yr reprieve [extension of security updates]).

So, time is required to maintain the computer and operating system, and be specific about updates (having backout plans in place and tested, etc). Setting everything to auto-update... recipe for disaster.. as you are experiencing. the flip side is spending a lot more time deliberately managing system. I'm not aware of an inexpensive easy answer

If you aren't using Facebook's /Live/Producer URL, I recommend you get familiar with it, and test there on a day when you can play and not impact anything important, or be rushed (use a test publish of video with limited channel Admin only audience so your testing isn't 'public').

[the following is just an FYI, in case new to you. Apologies if you are aware of all of this already. Just trying to make sure we are on same page, so to speak]
Having both Radeon and nVidia graphics is not a common setup, and requires some expertise to manage properly. personally, I wouldn't bother, but that is also because I'm not a gamer and have no need for what such a setup could enable [I'm sure there are probably other reasons, just not in the realm I've ever encountered]. The over-riding issue is real-time video encoding is VERY computationally demanding. such that most modern systems have dedicated offload chips for just such usage. General CPUs are ok, but not great at it. As such, most folks want CPU to be available for other purposes (ex content to stream) and then offload (from CPU) the encoding (typically to an encoding chip on GPU). BUT that nVidia 1030 can't do encoding offload. For simple 1080p30, should that Radeon be able to real-time encode? not sure, probably as CPU relatively recent and 1080p30 not considered all that demanding, but you'll need someone else's input or your own research to answer that. IF the Radeon can handle the H.264 encoding (what Facebook wants), I'd be inclined to remove the nVidia GPU entirely unless here is some other reason to have it, and the Operating System and OBS Studio properly configured (being aware of how OBS Studio frame buffers work, and not wanting to capture content across GPUs (ie best, in general, to NOT display something on 1030 that you want the Radeon to encode).
Beware that H.264 encoding is old, H.265 is a licensing mess which precluded its wide adoption, and AV1 is the new standard, but only latest/recent cards can handle such encoding offload (much more computationally demanding that H.264, resulting in lower bandwidth for same quality). YouTube already supports AV1 streaming. And Facebook just recently deleted livestream video libraries (ugh). So we are still livestreaming to Facebook based on years of community, etc. but migrating to livestreaming to YouTube instead is under consideration (and we would have switched already if it wasn't for YouTube being so incompetent/indifferent about music copyright and streaming licenses...)

I recommend search this forum on facebook .. some issues are browser related, and impact seeing live preview, but not stream itself. Recent OBS Studio 31.1 had a certificate issue (iirc) fixed with 31.1.1. Which is a different issue. Sounds like you need some basic operating system troubleshooting to start, then OBS Studio, then Facebook (at least that is the order I'd tackle your issues)

Thanks for your help. I had to go out of town for a couple weeks so I will spend some time when I get back on the items you mentioned. Thanks again.
