Question / Help OBS - When Running, either cannot find CSGO as a window or crashes CSGO on startup

Hey guys! Really weird problem I'm having. When running OBS, if I need to start CSGO while it's on, CSGO won't work. It will crash frequently. With it off, no problem.

I run OBS as an administrator and still occasionally have problems with this, either run as an admin or not. Additionally, at times, when running CSGO, the screen will go black and OBS will say it can't find the game, but the game is working fine on my other monitor, just not being streamed.

I don't have Razr Synapse stuff, so disabling that will do nothing since it's not currently on my system. Do you guys have any thoughts? This started recently.

Thanks!

The log 2015-02-17-1921-09 is the first one, streaminglog is the second one (restarted OBS to see if that would fix the issue then)

OK! So closing some Nvidia stuff seemed to help, BUT now I still have a problem that occasionally the game just doesn't show on stream for whatever reason! Thoughts? It randomly stops showing on stream and I have to spam enable/disable it to make it show. Playing it on Borderless Windowed mode

Edit: Nevermind, still crashing :\, just less frequently

Still crashing, unfortunately.

More Details: Happens on GAME CAPTURE of CSGO. Only happens if Game Capture is activated on CSGO. If I have it off, I can launch CSGO, but then it crashes once I turn it on.

I think I figured it out - Steam Broadcasting/Streaming! I disabled it and so far no problem :)
Yup, pretty much most people's issue lately. either that for nvidia experience, but I think I heard you say you removed that. btw, 720@60 needs 3500 bitrate/buffer. 720@30 needs only 2500 to which you have it set to now.

Kepasa - Issue came up again I'll try this again!

dping - Thank you for the advice! The issue is I'm not a very big streamer so if I set it to 3500 then a lot of viewers won't be able to watch (already have some people with slow internet that can't watch but I also can't stream a FPSer like CSGO at 30fps)

@Alex42 I had this problem too. I closed im task manager "recentral". I have avermedia drives on my pc and I guess they made problem with some games on "game capture" but still I'm not sure.

Personally, I would not recommend Game Capture for CSGO. It's given me nothing but headaches. Run CSGO in borderless windowed, and use Window Capture. Should eliminate most issues.

Play in your monitors native resolution. I would hope you are inteligent enough to know playing in such a low resolution does not provide you any benefit.

I can't help you any further unfortunately. All I know is that CS GO really does not like Game Capture, so you may have no choice.
