Question / Help OBS Taking Too Long to Start Recording

I'm using OBS for recording video files straight to my hard drive. What I've noticed is that whenever I hit 'Start Recording' or 'Preview Stream' it always takes a long time (close to 1-2 minutes) for OBS to start recording. I don't feel this is normal as there were rare cases where OBS started recording right away. I want to know what can I do to start recording immediately. Is it my settings? Specs, perhaps? Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I should've mentioned that OBS freezes up actually. The process is "Click 'Start' -> Freezes for 2 minutes -> Starts recording"

Seems like I figured it out. After sending the log in, it tells me that my resolution/framerate combination is no good (1080p60fps) and that I needed to downscale. After doing that, OBS runs without locking up. Whoo!
