Hey guys,

im really new to this whole streaming thing and i wanted to stream counter strike.

My specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 (4x 3.30ghz)
GPU: msi radeon r9 270x (amd)
RAM: 8gb
my upload is: 5-6mb

so my monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080, but im playing counter strike in a lower resolution (1280x960) and i want to stream with that resolution.
i see streamers like moe or hiko that are streaming in such resolutions, but i dont have a clue how.

also, my stream in twitch is kinda lagging (it buffers like every 10 seconds) and i dont know why, since i know many streamers that have way worse specs that me and have no lag on twitch and ingame.

would be awesome if somebody could help me.
sorry for the bad english :P

I believe in your encoding settings, use your monitor resolution at 1920x1080 but then go to your down scaling drop box and down scale to 1280x960 (if the option is available), if not, try using the 1280x960 resolution and down scale to 'None'. Also, lower your bitrate to about 2700 so your viewers dont get that buffering because not everyone has good internet. Can you post a log file in your OBS. Here's how: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/problem-make-sure-to-post-a-log-and-or-crash-dump-howto.97/

here is my log
Just use your monitor resolution of 1920x1080 and down scale to 1280x960 if it allows you too. Or use 1280x960 as your native resolution and down scale to none. What capture mode are you using, ie...game capture...

Ok, try lowering your bitrate to 2000, but before you do that...try first going into your advanced settings and changing the CPU preset from veryfast to superfast. OBS is tell you that you're pushing your system to encode, lets take back some settings and work up from there.
