Question / Help OBS Serious Frame Drop Issues

I posted a few days ago about getting serious frame drop issues without knowing why. I streamed for 7 hours on monday and I had no frame drops at all throughout the entire stream. I have not changed any of my settings at all since then and I have serious issues with frame drops randomly. I have tried lowering my bitrate, changing resolution, changing server and nothing has worked, I even uninstalled OBS and nothing changed. Whenever I stream it says at the bottom left corner "Warning; taking too long to enccode"
Here are my settings:

make sure to post a log

and i can already say that your warning is due to too much load on your cpu which make the cpu fall behind and thats because you are running medium preset

yet we would need a log

In OBS press help and look for Analyze log file, select upload. It will give you a Github link you can post here.

Edit: Mostly if it takes too long to encode, the preset is too high for the cpu to take, or the bitrate is too high. Standard preset is veryfast. Go from there, if your cpu can handle it, 'faster' is an option, anything lower than that, dont do it, only if you have some NASA pc.

I agree with ZCrimes. Always get a baseline of something that works, so that you have something to fall back to. Then tweak from there. The default preset is Very Fast, and you should make sure your stream works on that setting before changing the preset.
