OBS refuses to use AMD h.264 encoder

I have a laptop with ryzen 7535s with rx 6550m, and I've already updated all my drivers, but obs wont let me use the h264 encoder. using the x264 sucks, so i would prefer if I could use the hardware encoder instead. here's the log file, I notice this popping up always:
[texture-amf-h264] amf_avc_create_texencode: Wrong adapter
anybody know the fix to this? I have the log file attached

Not sure if this is the fix but make sure OBS is running on the High Performance GPU:
Open Settings and search for "Graphics Settings". Select "Classic App" and browse to C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe (or wherever you have installed OBS). Click "Options" (example screenshot).

This may prevent you from using Display Capture.
