Question / Help OBS recording what options

Hi All,

I'm currently using OBS to record my gameplay and I want to ensure that the quality doesn't break up with pixel issues when playing high motion games along with it staying nice and sharp. I currently have this working with 25000mbps, but as you can imagine this is cpu intensive and therefore wanted to see what other options are out there and what you are all using. I want the quality to be 1080p and sharp as this footage is then uploaded to YT.

Thanks and look forward to your responses.

Bob.

As long as you use the x264 encoder (not quicksync or nvenc) its best to follow our High Quality Recording guide:
https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/

In short, with these settings the encoder can select the necessary bitrate to reach the selected quality. So you dont have to fiddle around with a fixed maximum bitrate and can just tweak the quality further if really necessary. You can with these settings even lower the encoding preset (veryfast -> superfast -> ultrafast) to lower the cpu usage. Quality will be the same but file size will increase a bit.
Oh and make sure CBR is not checked (should be mentioned in the guide)
