Aloha guys!
I have a problem with recording Minecraft using OBS. Now before we start I want to mention I used to record Minecraft with OBS on my old Windows 7 Toshiba laptop that had 4GB of ram on it and I would be able to get 25FPS. I recently bought a Windows 10 desktop that has 12GB of ram. I can run Minecraft with 250FPS but as soon as I hit record on OBS the FPS drops to 15 and the lag is terrible. I can't seem to understand how my ghetto Toshiba laptop with only 2GB of usable ram can have more FPS with OBS than my new 12GB of ram desktop......
I tried everything. I looked up tutorials on YouTube looking at the best no lag settings for OBS and it still doesn't work. I even tried downloading Optifine and I the modified the Minecraft settings for no lag and the FPS still is at 15. Changing the render distance from short to normal doesn't even make a difference. The FPS still stays at 15 so I assume this is a problem with OBS not Minecraft. I even tried other recording software like Fraps and it still has the same problem too: 250+FPS without OBS but as soon as I record I get 15.
I tried to figure it out myself and a couple of things I can only conclude is that it must be a problem with OBS and Windows 10?
I have 2 basic questions:
1. Is there anyway you can solve this problem? If so how?
2. If there is no solution how does my ghetto Toshiba laptop that is six years old run OBS recording Minecraft with more FPS......
