Question / Help OBS recording is black when played back in itunes...?

Hey folks,

A bit of a weird one. I've been trying out a few different ways of recording videos using OBS. Without going in to specifics I have just set up a scene that records one of my monitors and nothing else, and then saves the file as an .mp4 in a designated folder.

This is what is strange though. My default video manager is itunes, and I use itunes to manage my TV and films collection. If I play back the newly recorded video in itunes then I get crystal audio and no video. However, if I opt to watch the vdeo using windows media player it plays just fine. Is there something about itunes that I'm missing here, or am I making a mistake? it seems super strange that it would play fine on one and not the other, despite the fact that it is exactly the same file....?

Oh, it may be worth mentioning at this point that i tried turning off the 'copy files to itunes folder when adding to library' setting. It made no difference. The screen is black regardless of whether I copy the final or just play the original through itunes.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thankyou,

StrathGoose

It's not that it won't play. The videos play fine in Windows Media Player. But I'd like them to work through iTunes if possible so I can use them on all my devices, as with every other video in my collection...
