I've streamed to twitch using OBS for a few months using this computer with no problems and today when I pressed start streaming, no connection was made. I've tried resetting the key and clearing my cookies and cache like google results suggest, and nothing has worked.

Well I solved the problem, although it doesn't really make sense...

I switched the server I was using to broadcast to one slightly further away, could it be the actual twitch server is having troubles?

It can happen from time to time. Just because a server is close doesn't always mean you'll get a better connection to it.
