Hi all, new to OBS and I'm having some trouble using quicksync.
My computer is a couple of years old new and whilst I could do with a GPU upgrade I thought I'd try quicksync just to get started.
i5 2700k
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO / GEN3
AMD Radeon 6950
Windows 7 (64-bit)
My initial problem is that no matter what I did I couldn't get OBS to allow me to select quicksync (greyed out). My iGPU is enabled in the BIOS and I've updated to the latest Intel HD Graphics driver for my required CPU (Intel 2nd Gen i7, Intel HD 3000 series). A quick look around and it appears that others weren't having this problem. After trying to reinstall the drivers the same problem was occurring. I tried using the Lucid software but again nada (It's now uninstalled again). I've followed this guide; http://mirillis.com/en/products/tutorials/action-tutorial-intel-quick-sync-setup_for_desktops.html with the settings still in place to activate quicksync.
The below link * has a user who had a slightly different issue but I noticed he had solved the greyed out problem by placing the MediaSDK folders contents into the OBS installation directory. Alas the option to select quicksync was now available. Unfortunately whenever I now try to stream or preview, I get 'QSVHelper.exe has exited because the encoder has not initialized'.
I'm assuming that regardless of all I've done OBS still can't see my iGPU? It seems I'm either missing something obvious or done something wrong. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
