Hey guys, thanks for reading this topic <3

Let me start what i want to achieve during streaming :

These are all the sounds & input i use during streaming with obs :

Music Player : Music for viewers
Game Sound : Sound for viewers & caster(Me)
Teamspeak Sound : Sound for viewers & caster(Me)
Microphone : Input for viewers & people on teamspeak

All of these sounds go thru my USB Headset ( logitech ) also go speakers but not using them during gaming.

Now what i'm trying to do is the following :
I want to keep everything the same but without hearing the music player on my headset.
My viewers need to enjoy the background music + microphone output + game sound
But i want to mute the Music for myself (playing CS cant listen to music during the game)

I searched for days and found alot of website containing info and tried allot with different outputs and inputs ( virtual audio cable, foobar with diff output etc ) sometimes it worked by then my game sound was missing on stream.

I would be so happy if some1 on this forum can give simple advice or a little tutorial if its not to much work.

OBS Forum is my last hope

Thank you in advanced,

Joey

Hmm I'm also looking for something similar.

I want my stream to catch my mic and game audio, but I want to watch streams at the same time, so I need to cut out browser audio from being recorded.

I was thinking about separating game audio and browser audio to different devices, but internet guides are rubbish and didn't really help.

There are a few ways to go about doing this, though I admit it's not easy. If you have different audio coming out of speakers/headset, then it's a bit of a pain with the current versions of OBS. You generally have to use the directshow audio plugin (here[/ur]), and need to set that to capture your desktop audio via "what you hear" or "stereo mix", and then set the main desktop audio capture in audio settings to your headset.

We're going to have this little situation fixed in upcoming versions, but it's still a while off.

I guess there is no option to exclude sound sources that cannot select their devices (like browsers), but going through the guide, it should work for wupNL.

Right to summarise this question from a while ago....

The new obs will work with this method, the cross platform allows for multiple audio sources and it works.. (doesnt ouput multiple tracks on recording for editing)

You will need software such as vacs!

Basically you setup your devices so that they output to specific virtual cables

So say music you have on line 2 (set in vlc or other good media program to output to line2) if you want to hear the music you set the virtual cable to listen to your speakers/headset

There is no way to do it with the standard browser/flash player on a website such as twitch as that has no option where to output sound (defaults to your default device)

Due to some unknown reason game developers on steam didnt think to allow the gamers to choose there game audio output (this really should be added in)

Meaning that game audio (on most games) and browser audio will come out of the same channel meaning that you have to hear both or here neither and same for the viewers on your stream.

I have 4 virtual cables, 1. my mic, 2. music, 3. comms (ts/mumble/skype), 4. Game

Basically i ahve them all set to play into my headphones so when i use any thing it acts like it would normally if there wasnt virtual cabling, but all the virtual cabling allows me to set multiple seperate inputs on the new obs multiplatform.

So i now have made my self a sound mixer for all my gaming inputs so i can adjust volumes and mute any device as required.

This feature is massively being improved in the new updates as they are allowing the output recording to contain multiple tracks meaning great things such as:

Some asshole screams racist remarks because they die just as you get the best kill of your life!
you can then turn down the audio of the comms and whalla no game sound lost, no mute spot in your video no need for stupid loud music to cover up one assholes rage

this will save a hell of a lot of time when it comes to editing videos in the future but this also works on live stream if some one is raging just mute the output on the new obs for your comms virtual cable and whalla it stops without losing game audio.

I still use the main obs client for windows but i also use the new mpobs from time to time, im awaiting the new features working.

All the stuff for multiple output tracks is in the software it just needs sorting so it works :-)

Anyway hope this helps and if you need more information then feel free to contact me :-)

Happy streaming/recording.

why open a new one ? its the same support... why fill the forums with repeated threads if there is already one...

i was answering the persons question.....
then i asked if there was any progress on the software...

Thread hijacking and thread necroposting is actually highly frowned upon, especially with a thread that is over a year and a half old.

i was answering some ones question....
i spent a good 30 minutes writing a propper reply to answer the persons question

i dont see the date on any posts on the website? and this is what came up on google when i searched for some thing similar so i gave some one a propper answer to there question and get 2 people giving me crap for trying to help some one????
