Question / Help OBS Monitor capture

Hello everyone. I am new to OBS and I experienced a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. Whenever I right click under source and then add source, I added in the monitor capture but within the OBS preview stream it shows multiple layers of the monitor being capture and I did not check the "capture layered windows" so I'm confused. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

Not sure what you mean 'multiple layers of the monitor'... a monitor capture will capture EVERYTHING on that monitor, as you see it. Hence the name. If you only want to capture one window, use game or window capture.

I guess he means the hall of mirrors effect if you have the obs window open and see the preview while this obs window is on the screen that is captured by the monitor capture :) Which is a totally normal effect.
But yea, if you just want one window captured, use window capture, if you use monitor capture, just move obs to another window or dont worry about the mirror effect.
