I have a capture card hooked up to my laptop to stream my gaming desktop and whenever i even do preview it my cpu goes straight to 100% and my cpu temps peak to like 100c which is not good i presume lol & when i turn preview back off it goes back down to like 10%. Does anyone know a fix to this? the capture card i'm using is a usb 3.0 xcapture-1.

Laptop Specs:
Intel Core i7-3610QM 2.3 ghz
6gb RAM
GT 650m 2gb gddr5

Hi,

When you start the preview, take a look at your power settings, they may have changed, since this is what this card does.

From a review

"...There's one curious behavior of the XCAPTURE-1 that needs to be mentioned: Whenever the card is active at all, it seems to disable all power-saving functions of the CPU or something. The moment I begin displaying the XCAPTURE-1 input in any video program (before recording, encoding, or streaming), the temperature on my CPU rapidly increases to the same level it would be at when used for actual video encoding..."

Thanks for the reply, is there a way to make it so that it doesn't automatically go to 100%? I didnt see anything in the review on how to fix it :s

Okay so I did a little bit of googling and here's what i came up with:
They have the drivers on their website:
http://www.micomsoft.co.jp/xcapture-1_download.htm

I got it to translate it to English and here's what the Driver updates say:
The difference between the retail version annex of CD-ROM (Rev.1.0)
<driver>
● noise in voice at the time of the time of composite video and S-Video inputs have improved the problem to be mixed.
● The image of NOSIGNAL when the video signal not input was and improved blue back display a problem that had been flashing at the time of the time of composite video and S-Video inputs.
● composite video input and a particular scan line at the time of the time of S-video input I've improved problem which has not been displayed.
● Windows8 CPU utilization (total) is I was measures to problem that is recognized as 98-100% at the time of use.
● I have changed the time unit from 1,000,000 to 30,000 (standard). It is now possible to play a video file that was recorded by this in the MAC and free editing software Avidemux.
● I have changed the default setting of sharpness from "128" to "32".
(For such composite video and S-video swaying sharpness is too high in has occurred)
I have been improved for ● de-interlacing setting has not been reflected.<Video keeper 2> ● I added the "NTSC J" to "Video / S signal setting". If you are using video equipment in Japan for, please use this mode. Notation of the old "NTSC" I was changed to "NTSC M". ● We moved the setting function of "GPU support functions" of the setting dialog from "Other Settings" to "Capture Settings (board A / B)". ● I was corresponding to the encoding support functions by NVIDIA's GPU "CUDA". NVIDIA's graphics processor (GeForce) is available encoding support by CUDA in equipped PC.※ Please check the NVIDIA's Web page model number of CUDA-enabled graphics processor. ※ I recommend the NVIDIA Corporation GTX760 more GPU. ※ You can not simultaneously use of CUDA and intel QuickSyncVideo.Virtu is not available. ※ Please use the latest drivers provided by NVIDIA Corporation when you use the. ※ use of CUDA is I can be turned on / off by board (by device). ※ CUDA available at the time, (if the higher of the CPU processing power), but to reduce the load on the CPU significantly, to perform all the encoding process is CUDA core, depending on the performance of the GPU to become available, CUDA more, there is a high fps value at the time of recording when you do not want to use the. <Reference> 1080p (60p) FPS in "one screen" [When CUDA unused] Core i5 2500K only = 59fps about Core i5 2500K (QuickSyncVideo) = 59fps about [when CUDA use] Core i5 2500K + NVIDIA GT640 (CUDA) = about 40 ~ 50 fps (using graphics card: GeForce GT 640 ELSA LP 2GB) ※ graphics card work with PCI Express Gen2. fix the issue?

Edit: Currently waiting for the zip folder for the driver to download on my laptop.
